One important thing i should like to point out....

We learn a lot in the company of sages, wise men but

Staying in the company of people too long is not recommended. Why?

because it prevents you from staying alone with your Lord: Allah.

Remember: truth is found in exile! While keeping silence, we also learn to discover ourselves

We need this inner conversation in order to develop insight and awareness

Blessings to you all

while taking the meals, it is better to stop eating, when you still desires some more.
it is advisable to divide your stomach in three parts when start eating, one for food, second for water and third for air.
may allah help us to follow on these thoughts.

Remember there are four doors that lead to shaytan

Overeating
Oversleeping
Talking too much
Staying in the company of people too long

I think it should be staying in the company of BAD people too long. I can see that my Iman has drastically decreased and one of the major factors is all me good friends who used to remind me of the religion and we used to do musabaqa in learning deen have moved away!!

Alhamdullillah, these are words of wisdom.

We should always remind each other about these important issues in order to help us overcome our bad habits and vain desires.

Many muslims do not even realise that they are conveying a very negative image about islam through overeating esp.when they are in public.

They should start by changing their bad habits in their everyday lives so that it becomes easy for them during Ramadan to reflect upon this base attitude.

Overeating is not normal. it is a sin and it opens one of the four doors which gives access to shaytan.

Remember there are four doors that lead to shaytan

Oversleeping
Talking too much
Staying in the company of people too long

While changing these bad habits and learning to follow the sunnah of our beloved prophet [p.b.u.h], Allah Azzawajal will insha Allah open His doors of Mercy for us as this is a form of Tawbah.

We ask Allah to help us overcome our passion and turn to Him in this month of Ramadan.

Jazaak Allah khayr. This athaar fits here nicely:

Eating to Fast [NOT fasting to Eat]

It is reported that once, some good food was served to Anas [Ibn Mâlik] – Allâh be pleased with him, and [the person who served the food] was well off enough to afford good food. As he was eating, he kept a morsel of the food in his mouth for a while, then looked at the people and began to cry. Then he said, “By Allâh, I have accompanied people who, if they could get hold of this kind of food, would have fasted even more often, and spent less time not fasting. One of them would find only milk mixed with water [as food], which he would drink and then fast on.”

Al-Mu’âfâ b. ‘Imrân, Kitâb Al-Zuhd article 215.

Taqabalallaahu minnaa jami'an.
